Caterpillar
Families…
Thank goodness it's starting to feel like summer! There are
just a few things we wanted to touch base with you on for the
months of June and July! We wanted to start off by wishing all
of our friends who are leaving us this summer the very best.
Bailey Virnig and Rachel Dinerstein left us at the end of May.
Sean McClellan, Sam Johnson, Finley Deischer and Octavio Skrede
will also be leaving us at the end of June. Uma Gyaltsen will
be leaving us as well, but we are happy to say she will be coming
back to the Caterpillar classroom in the fall! Thank you all
for being part of the Learning Gardens and we will greatly miss
each and every one of your shining faces.
A summer field trip information sheet was sent home with you
regarding the summer field trips, however, wanted to give a
little reminder of what and when they are: Madison Metro Bus
Station is June 18th, Geology Museum is July 8th and Madison
Central Public Library will be July 23rd. Please check your
calendars because we would love to have you or any of your family
members join on these special days.
Swimming will be starting up on June 16th and will be every
Wednesday for the rest of the summer session! Parents, please
remember to dress your child in their suit that morning before
they get to school with sandals and a towel. Remember to bring
extra clothes and underwear for your child to change into once
they are back at school. This is a really special time for the
kids to enjoy and we love to watch the water fun.
On to the classroom part of things, some of the fantastic themes
that we have come up with for the months of June and July are:
Ponds, Farm, Camping/Father's Day, Cowboy/Western, Fourth of
July, Rocks/Dinosaurs, Bikes/Tour de France, Children's Authors
and Construction. If you have any great ideas, please feel free
to share!
We realize lots of you will be taking summer vacations and
while we are jealous of these vacations and suggest taking teachers
along, just make sure you are to let Joe or Anne know of the
vacation prior so we can plan accordingly! Enjoy the SUN!!!
