Treehouse
Jen Place & Amanda Bettin
Hello to
everyone in this summer addition of the Learning Gardens newsletter.
We have had a busy couple of months. We have taken several walks
around the neighborhood and seen many exciting things. On some
of our shorter walks, the Treehouse children have actually walked
the whole way, No Buggy! On one of our longer buggy rides about
a month ago we walked to the pet store on Odana and purchased
a pet for our room; it's a beta fish. The children came up with
a name all by themselves and it's Bubbles! The children like
to help feed Bubbles and watch him/her swim around in the tank.
Some friends even like to place toy animals next to the tank
as if to say "here, you can play with this!"
The
Treehouse children have been a very close group. Now they enjoy
playing together in small groups versus individual play. It's
great to see them starting to build friendships.
We
have had a busy couple of months. We said goodbye to Yahir and
Nathan. Max has moved to Sunflowers and Kylie and Mason have
moved to Butterflies. We have welcomed some new friends into
the Treehouse. Grant and Brenda joined us in June and Sidra
and Carly joined us in July from outside the center. Carolyn
will join us from the Bumbles this month and Miles will join
us from Belugas in August.
August
3rd will be Grant's birthday. We wish a Big Happy 2nd Birthday
to Grant!
Summer
is here! We will be doing a lot more outdoor activities. Some
themes and activities will be: 4th of July, Red, White and Blue,
picnics, beaches, swimming, fish, sand, and water play outside.
Please
remember to keep your child's cubby stocked. Also consider a
light jacket for cool mornings outside and cooler days through
out the summer. We even recommend that you bring a sun hat for
the times that we are outside on the playground. Always keep
in mind to look at your child's daily sheets at the end of the
day. There is important information about your child on the
daily sheet and it is a good way to help communicate to you
about your child's day.
